Te Wiki o Te Reo Māaori
Celebrating the language and heritage of Waikato-Tainui
As the heart of Kirikiriroa Hamilton's CBD, Centre Place is proud to acknowledge Te Wiki o Te Reo Māaori and celebrate the enduring significance of te reo Māori in our community.
We recognise Waikato-Tainui as mana whenua and acknowledge the important role that language plays in preserving culture, identity and connection across generations.
This year's theme, Ake, Ake, Ake – A Forever Language, reflects a shared commitment to ensuring te reo Māaori continues to thrive for future generations throughout Aotearoa.
Whether you're fluent, learning, or simply taking your first steps, Māaori Language Week is an opportunity for us all to embrace and celebrate the first language of New Zealand.
Kia kaha te reo Māaori.
